Granny’s Closet celebrated their 10th anniversary by providing a luncheon for any one in the community that wanted to come help celebrate. Spring salads entrees and desserts were offered.
The guest speaker was Garden Valley School Superintendent/Principal Greg Alexander, who told of the story of his mom and the dedication she had to keep her kids clothed even during the hardest of times. He related that story to how Granny’s Closet Thrift Store does the very same thing for the community, whether it is a family facing hard times, or someone lost everything to a fire, the store always has plenty to help the community. He also spoke about the generous donations that Granny’s gives back to the community through the strong support of the store by locals who donate and shop there as well.
Ruth Richter oversees the operations of the store which is a part of the GV Senior Center. The audience was also treated to a few “granny’s” modeling outfits that were all discovered at the store. This included styles for gardening to lounging or getting dressed up. Here is a sample of the Granny’s Closet fashion show…….
