Explore Crouch at the Annual Spring Fling Coming in May

Crouch, Idaho –  Spring is now here and that means it is Crouch/Garden Valley’s time for the annual Spring Fling coming May 6th, the first Saturday in May. Spring Fling is a major fundraiser for the Garden Valley Center for the Arts with the kick off welcoming neighbors old and new and an invitation for tourists to explore what businesses have to offer in Crouch and surrounding areas.  A silent auction will be taking place all day as part of the fundraising.  Auction items will range from art work and crafts to certificates, coupons from local businesses. This year there are plans for many activities and vendors in downtown Crouch.

This the 3rd year that the event has been sponsored by the GVCA.  History is that Spring Fling was a arts/crafts fair held in Spring to welcome back Snowbirds, to celebrate Spring, check out any new businesses and changes in GV / Crouch.   The Greater Garden Valley Chamber sponsored the Spring Fling for many years and it was a fundraiser for their scholarship fund.  The GVCA took over using the platform for raising money for the gallery and art scholarships.

This year, we have numerous vendors in addition to the businesses in town and the Grand Opening day for Idaho X-Sports Summer Adventure Park location in downtown Crouch for the summer and will be next to the Garden Valley Market, featuring the Freedom Jump bungee trampoline, bounce house, disc golf, mountain bike rentals, outdoor games (horseshoes, ladder ball, bean bag toss, bocce ball), snacks & drinks. (River tube rentals will come later in the season.)

Vendors already on board include numerous handcrafted jewelry vendors, metal work, outdoor wear, wood carving and log furniture, and mixed media arts. Food vendors abound with Dickey’s BBQ food truck, homemade pies (assorted fruit and meat such as pot pies), baked goods, Frosty’s, and Kettle Corn. A new local food spot will be opening which and offering pizza and subs in town, There is a new sandwich shop in the Merc. The old radio station location will be a gift shop and coffees.  The Green Chili’s at the Market will have some new items to debut. Idaho X-Sports may also have a food trailer by Spring Fling.

Entertainment has not been finalized yet, but plan look forward to music throughout the day. The community radio station will be playing music on the Boardwalk.  Another addition is to the festivities is the Crouch/Garden Valley Visitor Center located behind the Community Hall will have its first opening so that locals can see the Information Center as it evolves and grows.
