Happy Retirement Jay Rosenthal

Idaho City – 4/4/2017 – A retirement luncheon was attended by county employees to celebrate Jay Rosenthal, Chief Deputy Prosecutor and his retirement at the end of the month.  He has worked for Boise County for 16 years and remembers working in his office.  “My first chair was actually a stool,” says Rosenthal.  He has many fond memories as Idaho City  and county offices as they changed. His list of the many friends he met along the way is a lengthy, too.  As he spoke about those memories he was all smiles.

Now at 80 years old, Rosenthal looks to retirement with a bit of anxious anticipation. He is not sure what the next chapter will be like but he knows that he says will be good at “bothering my wife more”.

Newest member to take over as Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney is Spencer Lay.  He has worked in the county since November and has already been instrumental in working with high profile cases such as the Klingner embezzlement trial.

You will not be missed! Retirement age is 65, why did you wait to 80?

  2. Thanks, Jay for your dedicated service to Boise County. Your intelligence and wisdom will be missed.
    Happy Days to you.
