Fun and Frolic at the Garden Valley School During Dr. Seuss Reading Week

Written by Janet Juroch

The beloved Dr. Seuss books were  incorporated into a week of reading fun and activities at the Garden Valley School. Daily themes, community guest readers, costumes and class door decorating were part of the fun. One evening was Reading Night events including green eggs and ham fixed in a clever way by the cafeteria staff. This was a week-long event for the PreK through 5th grade. Each student was able to order a book to take home and keep. On Reading Night the students got their books. This was made possible from a teacher’s grant from CapEd Credit Union. Jan Ward, GV School Kindergarten teacher applied for the grant and received in time for the Dr. Seuss Reading Week.
